Cannon Rocks is adjacent to Boknes (or Boknesstrand), more or less halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London, and just 36 km from Port Alfred. This stretch of our eastern coastline is known as the Sunshine Coast as it boasts the highest number of sunny days in South Africa. In fact, this area has the best of both worlds- the unique Eastern Cape Valley thicket with its amazingly diverse eco-system, and magnificent unspoilt beaches.
The beaches in this area are pristine, and it is a nature lover's paradise. Cannon Rocks is also close to some other popular coastal holiday towns, such as Kenton-on-Sea and Bushman's River. There are a variety of game reserves in the area, and so "Big 5" game viewing is also possible in this malaria-free area.
